Yahoo! Is Outranking Google In Total Traffic…Not Search
The recent comScore report indicated that Google, for the first time in 2 years, has been beaten out for total traffic by competitor Yahoo!. While this may sound like Google is in trouble, this is far from accurate. The scope of Yahoo!’s services, especially after acquiring Tumblr, is much further than Google’s. More importantly, this is for total traffic, not search. The VAST majority of searches, still come from Google.
So, there’s nothing to really be alarmed about here. The story sounds much bigger than it really is.
